February 28, 2013: Softball

It is almost March which means spring is inevitably on its way. I am greatly looking forward to htis weather not only because it is a great deal warmer and pretty but because it means softball is about to start up. Softball is by far my favorite sport.

Our school team is about to get going. In fact, our first practice is supposed to be today but it is dreadfully cold. I wish the weather would hurry up and become nice and relatively warm with maybe a slight breeze. The weather is a key reason why I prefer to play in the summer than the spring.

I semily wonder if our team will actually last the whole season. I highly doubt it because we are a small area and softball is not a very prominent sport here. This would worry me if it wasn't for my ability to play with another team. I play with them in the summer and we have a lot of fun because we are all dedicated to the sport.

February 27, 2013: Happily Ever After

One day this family went for a walk in their nice little neighborhood. It was a summer day with the wind gently blowing. The weather seemed just right and they decided to take the new baby with them, to expose him to the scenes of outside. While walking, rather peacefully down the sidewalk, a large yellow lab came running out. The dog stopped itself just in front of the family and looked up expectantly. Its tail was wagging happily. The father stooped over to pet the animal affectionately, the mother still holding the child spoke admiringly towards the animal. They looked around to see if an owner was nearby but there was no one. The family decided to keep walking but the dog followed them. It seemed to be quite fascinated by the baby. Once the baby discovered the dog following them he was equally fascinated. The baby squirmed and wiggled trying to get down and finally the mother let him go. When he reached the ground the dog came quickly but not forcefully towards the child. He was not scared of the large animal before him and they quickly grew on each other. hte mother tried to pick the boy back up so they could continue their walk but he refused to go without the dog. They took the dog home and the boy and dog grew up together.
THE END.

February 25, 2013: Watermelon & Bicycles

A watermelon and a bicycle would not seem to have anything in common. However, a little consideration might enlighten someone to think otherwise. Off the top of my head I could not think of anything after being given this topic. Now I have a few things in mind.

For one both a bicycle and watermelon are purchased. The public can openly buy either one of these. Also, they are both objects. Both objects provide pleasure. The bike allows for exercise and a hobby. The watermelon is a tasty treat.

February 22, 2013: Kindergarten

When thinking of the word kindergarten, often images of bright-colored toys and nap time comes to mind. It is the one grade where you are permitted to sleep during class without any punishment. Often when a person gets older, particularly in high school, they wish they could still nap in class without reprimand.

I wish to go back to this. These were some of the best times because life was simpler. One's parents made the decisions and took care of them and responded to a kindergartener's every need. Also, kindergarteners do not receive severe punishment for anything becasue "they do not know any better."

Life is much simpler for a kindergartener.

February 21, 2013: School Dismissal

Today is one of those days with some pretty ugly weather. It is supposed to be a winter storm that is hitting all across the Mid-West. Most of the places around us are receiving some pretty gruesome weather and their schools have already been cancelled. It seems that we are one of the few schools still in session.

We are all wishing to get that announcement that says we can go home. hopefully it will occur shortly because we discovered that it is sleeting outside. Also, we were informed that a test drive was about to occur to test the roads and hopefully after that we are able to leave. Since everyone around us is dismissed it seems as though we should be aloud to.

We did, on the bright side, receive a delay this morning but it would be great if we could miss the last hour or two of the day.

February 20, 2013: East vs. West

The East and the West are both cardinal directions. They both have coasts here in the United States that we refer to quite commonly. Also, they can both be used to tell where something is becasue they are directions.

One difference of the east and west is that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Another difference is "the west" can typically refer to the United States becasue we are commonly called "The Western World" in relation to the rest of the world. Europe and Asia can be referred to as "the Eastern World." This is true because the US is in the Western Hemisphere and Europe and Asia are in the Eastern Hemisphere.

I am pretty indifferent when it comes to the east and west.

February 19, 2013: Pretty Crafty

I have recently learned that I am pretty crafty, if I do say so myself. I am very much a perfectionist so it usually takes me awhile to create things but I enjoy making them. Last week was my sister's birthday and she is deeply in love with red high heels. Because of this passion I threw her a red high heel themed party. Her cake was homemade strawberry with classic buttercream frosting and a pretty red high heel on top. I also made a picture that had a red high heel for the background and had the phrase "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" written over it in a pretty and quite loopy font. I thought these things turned out rather well and was quite proud of them.

February 15, 2013: Fingernails

Fingernails. Everyone has them and knows what they are. They grow and break and can be painted , although this only typically happens if you are a girl. Some people enjoy long fingernails while others bite them before they can even grow.

Biting one's nails is quite disgusting in my opinion. It is unknown what all is underneath them. How spome people can do this astounds me because I have never experienced any compulsion to bite my nails.

February 14, 2013: Softball Uniforms

Well today I am writing this post as quickly as I can because I was running late to class due to a softball meeting. I am okay with being a little late to class for this meeting because our school team is going to receive new uniforms. For once, our school is actually going to purchase ou uniforms instead of making us do it ourselves. This is an unusual occurence here especially for the girls' sports. However, the school should have no problem buying our uniforms this year because they are exceptionally cheap. Altogether this uniform will cost, shorts and jersey top, around $25. If you know anything about uniforms then it is understood how cheap that is in today's world and we all like them. They are mostly polyester with a small percentage of spandex so they are stretchy and not skintight. It will be black shorts with a white top. I am extremely excited to receive these new uniforms!

February 13, 2013: Sally and Patricia

Sally is a teenage girl with black hair and dark eyes. She seems to have a dark ora about her. Sally is always wearing dark clothing and is rather quiet around people. She is not outgoing and normally found with her headphones in.

One day an inquiring girl, Patricia, walked up to ask what she was listening to, however Sally did not hear her and it seemed as though she was ignoring the presence of the expecctant girl. While Patricia was waiting for an answer she heard the music blaring out of the headphones. It was extremely loud and Patricia realized it was heavy metal music. So much time had passed and Sally had still not responded so Patricia walked away accepting her failed attempt but not before she noticed the bright pink nail polish Sally was wearing.

Quite an interesting way to combine finger nail polish with heavy metal music in a story.

February 12, 2013: Advertising Project

In my English 4 class we have a project due here in the next few days. This is unlike any other project I have completed but it is quite interesting and entertaining. The project, as given to us by our teacher, is an advertising project. Each group must pick a product and make a magazine ad, radio ad, and a TV commercial. At first this may sound hard but after a detailed breakdown of the project my group quickly thought of a product which just so happened to be a new movie.

We wanted it to be a comedy movie so we decided the plot would be for us to move in together and learn the freedoms and responsibilities of shared living. We had the best time filming the different "previews" for the TV commercial and we laughed the entire time. Altogether this was a great project filled with hilarious moments.

I hope we receive a good grade!

February 11, 2013: Left Hand vs. Right Hand

The right hand is so much better than the left hand! I am right hand dominant so of course I feel this way. My left hand is completely retarded lacking any skill to do anything. I use my right hand every day for everything and cannot use my left hand without my right. If I use my left hand for some reason without the accompaniment of the right hand, it takes severe concentration to recieve the same results as when using my right hand.

By looking at them, there is not much difference only they are the mirror image of each other. However, my right middle finger is crooked but all of my left fingers are straight. Both hands are roughly the same size and have the same feel.

Because I am right hand dominant, right hand beats left hand every time.

February 5, 2013: Sports

I attend a very small school. Think of the smallest school you can imagine and mine will still be smaller, most likely. We do have the basic Varsity sports- baseball and basketball for boys and volleyball, cheerleading, and softball for girls. This may sound like most smaller schools however mine has one problem.

A large problem for us is having enough people interested in each sport to play. The hardest sports to obtain enough people for are softball and baseball. This is true because they require the most people. It is quite frustrating when we come extremely close to having a team but one more is needed and almost no one is willing to be that one person. Every year we have had to beg someone to play in order to have a team and this year it was a close call. A team was almost not formed but as of right now we should be able to have one!

February 4, 2013: Sandals vs. Tennis Shoes

This seems like a pretty common debate, one I often make when dressing in the mornings. Being who I am, I tend to despise shoes atogether except on exceptionally cold winter mornings when I need a warm, furry shoe to keep my toes warm. With that in mind, I often pick the sandal. They are open to the air and do not cause one's feet to smell. Also they are easy to put on and take off, saving much time. Typically sandals do not require socks and are perfect for warm summer days and most casual activities.

However, tennis shoes can sometimes be necessary for certain activities. When I wish to exercise, work, or play sports I definitely want tennis shoes because they are easy to move in and prevent most injuries. Tennis shoes do need socks and often make one's feet smell.

I would prefer to be bare foot but I typically wear sandals but have tennis shoes for certain circumstances.

February 1, 2013: Salt Shakers

Salt shakers are useful so that salt is readily available whenever it is needed. There all different kinds of salt shakers from the simple platic ones to nicer glass ones and then finally the extremely fancy ones. Salt shakers are easily customized because they come in different animals and shapes and almost anything a person could want.

There is a trick with a salt shaker and a nickel where all the salt comes out and I imagine this would be quite hilarious to observe. I would also thinkk it would be funny to be the person who picked up the shaker when the salt comes out. I am sure there are other entertaining experiences with salt shakers.
