January 14, 2013: MSU vs. U of A

The first college I will be talking about is Missouri State University. I visited this college last year while accompaning my sister on her visit. I greatly enjoyed this visit because the guide was nice and enthusiastic about the college. She was trying to sell her college while giving substantial information. The campus was quite spread out and it seemed like a job to get from building to building depending on where a student's classes are located. However, I liked the dorms of MSU because they showed visitors the differnet types and personally I would want to live in the apartment type dorms that don't use a community bathroom. The dining areas were nice and easily accessed from most places.

Another college I have visited is the University of Arkansas. This was probably my favorite tour and it rained the entire time so that should say something. The people were friendly all around and answered any questions one might pose. They were also set on selling their college and I think they did a fantastic job. Because it was raining, one would think the tour of the campus would be dreadful; however I took it as an opportunity to observe the college life. I learned a lot about the campus and I thought the academic buildings were closer together. They also weren't very far from the dorms which was good for days when it's raining. There was a lot of history to the college, especially particular buildings. I could definitely see the different architectual stylesand I greatly enjoyed seeing them. The campus is absolutely beautiful. The dorms were not as nice as MSU's but I only saw one dorm while visiting. I saw the outside of several others but I cannot recall their setup. The dining areas were nice and I saw different restaurants on campus but the main focus on the tour was the different academic buildings a student might attend.

I think my choice is quite obvious. I thought U of A was great.
