These windows at our school are very old. I do not think they seal off properly because there is often a draft near them even when they are shut. They are not thick, actually quite thin. However,on the bright side they do at least open therefore they do serve their purpose, to an extent.
Today just so happens to be a rather windy day and the windows are definitely sticking out to me. When the wind blows, it can be heard through the windows that have air conditioner units. The wind is heard because the window is not sealed and it actually makes a loud distraction in most of my classes. This is annoying because I am listening to the wind and becoming annoyed instead of listening to the class which often aggravates my teachers.
FYI these windows are annoying and disruptive and I do not like them.
This school has gone through a few overhauls, but I think it's time for another one, this time targeting the windows. The only way to rid ourselves of the aforementioned problems is to replace them with better windows that will seal properly. It's times like this that I'm glad I do not usually sit by school windows.
